DEVELOPMENT OF A PEST MANAGEMENT PLAN WINTON GLOBAL Lakeland Mills Ltd/Winton Global Lumber Ltd is developing a Pest Management Plan (PMP), reference number LL/WG2017-2022, that will use integrated pest management to direct action when dealing with competing brush species over the next five year period (2017 to 2022). The PMP will be used to guide the use of chemical and non-chemical brush control methods on areas that Lakeland/Winton Global has silviculture obligations. The use of pesticides is intended within the area to which the PMP applies. The PMP applies to the following geographic areas: Prince George (Carp and Telachick operating areas), Vanderhoof (Angly, Cluculz, Chilako and Pitka operating areas) east of McLeod Lake in the north to north of Teapot Mountain in the south, from Weedon Lake in the west to Gable Mountain in the east. Communities within or adjacent to this area includes Prince George and Bear Lake. The proposed chemical application methods are aerial (helicopter), hack-and-squirt, cut stump, and backpack sprayer. This PMP proposes use of the following pesticides, with the active ingredient glyphosate, for both ground and aerial application; Vision (19899), Vision Max (27736), Vantage Forestry (26884) and Weed-Master (29009).
