THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE VILLAGE OF LIONS BAY 2018 Municipal Election NOTICE OF NOMINATION PERIOD PUBLIC NOTICE is given to the electors of the Village of Lions Bay that an election will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Nominations for the office of: Mayor - one (1) to be elected Councillor - four (4) to be elected School Trustee - five (5) to be elected for a four year term ending October 2022, will be received by the chief election officer or deputy chief election officer as follows: WHEN September 4, 2018 at 9 a.m. to September 14, 2018 at 4 p.m., during regular office hours (excluding Wednesdays and weekends) WHERE Village Office 400 Centre Road, PO Box 141 Lions Bay, BC VON 2EO HOW Nomination documents may be delivered by hand, by mail or by other delivery service, by fax 604-921-6643 or email: election@lionsbay.ca, with originals to follow. The deadline for receiving originals of nomination documents is September 21, 2018 at 4:00. . Nomination documents are available at the Village of Lions Bay offices during regular office hours (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding Wednesdays and statutory holidays) throughout the nomination period September 4, 2018 at 10 a.m. to September 14, 2018 at 4 p.m. and are also posted on www.lionsbay.ca/government/election-2018. QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet the following requirements: •18 years of age or older on general voting day, October 20, 2018 • Canadian citizen • resident of British Columbia for at least six months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed; and • not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from being nominated for, being elected to or holding office, or be otherwise disqualified by law.
